Can You Use The Diamonds From My Ring?

MENS DIAMOND WEDDING BAND

Many clients ask if we can use the diamonds from a ring in their collection and the truth is we do not like to use our clients personal diamonds for several reasons.

Firstly, we do not believe in taking apart another jewelers creation. We put much energy and Aloha into each piece we create and so we do not want to destroy something that someone has put their passion into.

2. People want to send us the diamonds already removed at times and we will inlay them but they must be under 3mm and round. We also have some warnings before we agree:

~Our prices are based on man hours more than materials so the price for your ring is the same, whether we use your diamonds or ours.

~There is a chance your diamonds could be lost in the mail on their way to us, there is also a chance of your ring getting lost in the mail on its way to you.

~Our guys are rough and tough as titanium is not easy to work with and they could lose your diamonds in the workshop, they could also break your diamond during inlay.

Please know we are happy to cut and crush your personal wood and gemstone for inlay, but when it comes to the set stones, we are just trying to protect our clients best interest and would feel terrible if something happened to one of their family heirlooms.

What if My Ring Doesn't Fit?

A wedding proposal on the top of Mauna Kea and everything was perfect...except for the ring size. Surprise engagements are exciting(especially on this sacred mountain), even if the ring does not fit, but what do you do after they say yes to size it and get it on the right finger? Titanium is in a class all by itself as far as rings go and it cannot be cut and sized like gold or silver, so although we can sometimes make the ring slightly bigger, most of the time the ring needs to be remade. In fact, "What if my ring doesn't fit?" is the most common question I get at Hawaii Titanium Rings!

Clients are relieved and grateful to find out we offer a lifetime sizing guarantee and will re-size their ring anytime for a small fee. Most companies do not offer such generous guarantees, but we understand people must guess a size to surprise and even if they get it right, people sometimes change in size. We send our guarantee in writing with each ring but, I think people are so excited to put the ring on that they toss the paperwork. I get a kick out of how many people are shocked to hear we offer a simple sizing solution.

Contact us anytime you need assistance or have a concern about your ring and if your ring is in need of refinishing, stay tuned for the next Hawaii Titanium Rings Blog.

Ring Engraving Ideas-Part 2

What should I engrave? A frequent question here at Hawaii Titanium Rings! Our clients sometimes put more thought and time into what message goes on the inside of the ring than what design goes on the outside. We have waited months while people ponder, even meditate on their special message of love. Helping people figure out what to say in their ring has become one of our favorite parts of the ring sale. So what should you engrave? Here is a small list of engraving ideas to help:

1. Song Lyrics- My recent favorite was, “Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars.”
2. Surprise Message- A great example, “Why is your ring off?”
3. Nickname-We laughed out loud when we engraved, “To My Stinkerbell.”
4. Wedding Date- They will never forget an anniversary!
5. Inside Joke- Only they know what, “Can you tell...” means.
6. Phone Number or Driver's License- Yes, we have about 3 men a week who have lost their ring, it is a good idea to give the finder some way to find you.
7. Funny Comments- “World's Tiniest Handcuffs”, cracked us up!
8. Symbols- We can do simple symbols like hearts and infinity signs. Recently we engraved the Leo sign, a heart, then the sign for Sagittarius.
9. GPS Coordinates- So romantic to engrave the longitude and latitude of the place where you met.
10. Hawaiian Engraving-”Mau Loa” is a popular Hawaiian phrase meaning basically, Love Forever. It is translated as, “The time we have” and it is a simple way to say it all.

*NEW FAVORITES:

~From 28 cents in gas to now

Wedding Proposals~Mahalo

The Best Proposals

We are so honored when people get down on one knee to propose with one of our rings. We are even more honored when they share their stories of love with us. Some of our favorites include:

~ A sunset proposal at the top of Mauna Kea. The ring was too big for her and we don't know if it was because she was so cold on the 13,000+ high mountain or what cause we never heard back from her to get her the right size ring. The funny part of this exciting event is the people in the background post tee-off holding their golf clubs to the sky.

~A long-distance proposal picture was taken on a beach in Florida at sunset and sent via email to his love with a note that simply read:

Kathy, these are waiting for you in Florida - Love Bill

~A woman proposing to a man is a personal favorite and this picture/wedding announcement was especially touching.

If you have a proposal you would like to share with us please send them our way, it really keeps our hard working guys going to see the journey of the rings they make. Send us pics and post them as #hawaiititaniumrings
