Pau Amarello Wood from Brazil
Yellow wood is hard to find! Pau Amarello is one of the only woods with this bright yellow color. The tree is found mainly in the State of Para, Brazil and the only thing more vibrant than the wood is the tree's bloom of fragrant yellow flowers.
Local Brazilians have many uses for the tree; the wood is used to dye fabric and craft objects, the fruit is made into juice and wine, and the foliage and bark are brewed into pain relief medicine for hernia and toothaches.
Worldwide, the wood is used mostly for decorative furniture and accent pieces, such as chess boards. The wood turns to a darker shade when exposed to air, so the only way to keep this sunny saffron color is to seal it with a lacquer or resin.
Preserved in one of our rings, the wood stays true to its virgin hue and the clear coating gives the wood a satin appearance. Pau Amarello has become a favorite for woodworkers to build with and for our wood specialist to inlay because it is one of those woods that requires little work and a rewarding finish.

Hemlock Wood
Clients often ask, “What is the lightest wood you carry?” Our new stock of Hemlock wood is the winner. We were introduced to Hemlock by a gallery in Cannon Beach, Oregon that carries our rings; the gallery is located on a road called North Hemlock, so what better wood rings to offer.
We were surprised when the wood came in how beautiful it was and when we inlaid it in a ring we were astonished. Never had we seen such extraordinary grain texture in a wood. The pattern is evenly-spaced, straight and vertical with an intense three dimensional aspect. Hemlock looks like it was pieced together with blonde basewood and subtle tan folds that fade into each other.
The bark of the Hemlock tree was more valuable than the wood until the end of the 1900's as leather tanners and fur skinners used it to make their goods soft and strong. Many of these conifers were stripped and left to die before the construction boom in the 40's hit. Fortunately, today Hemlock forests are regulated and the wood is considered a favorite of builders and woodworkers for its beauty and strength.
Wood that compliments all skin types is usually very light or very dark and Hemlock falls into this category. The lighter woods have even a bigger advantage because they look great paired with all gemstone colors. Whether you are a native Oregonian or just appreciate the best of nature, Hemlock is the newest excitement in the wood world.

Modern Eternity Rings~More Than Just Diamonds
A common misconception is that eternity rings are wedding bands with a diamond wrap, but there are many modern styles that depict a different concept of the infinity ring while still keeping true to the wrapped design. The newest titanium creations showcase an unbroken chain and repetitive continuum of images or inlay patterns. Men and women are able to customize according to their personalities, experiences, and passions. Endless waves for your love of ocean, tribal triangles for your respect of culture, windows of color and texture for your appreciation of art; the patterns and combinations have transformed an ultra feminine piece of uniform jewelry into a unisex plethora of eternal design choices.

Did you know we get three men a week who have lost their rings?!
Yes, it is always the men for some reason; it has become a phenomenon at Hawaii Titanium Rings and the reason for this blog! Many lose their ring in the ocean , and we joke with them that their sacrifice will ensure their water safety. In fact it was a man who lost his ring in the Kona ocean the same day he bought it that started our “Recently Bought Lost Ring Discount”.
A few of the lucky ones find their rings, though, so retrace your steps and look in all the places you used your hands since the last time you saw your ring. The hamper, washer, and dryer are must places to look because sometimes rings come off when reaching into pockets and then end up in the laundry.
Gloves are another place rings are typically found because they sometimes stay put when you pull off your mitt. Always search the area around where you removed your gloves too! An EMT found his ring on the floor of the Helicopter the day after he did a night rescue; the chopper was too loud for him to hear his ring when it hit the floor.
Husbands, be sure to tell your wives you lost your ring! We went to call one gentleman to confirm his shipping information and reached his wife instead who did not know her husband has lost his ring. Even, if you lose your ring multiple times and a couple of our clients have. A favorite client and local wife in Kona called us more than upset to order her husband his third ring and I worried for the man's life. Luckily, she found it in the dryer the next day:)
Here is a story from one of our local clients(P.S. ah ah is sharp lava rock:)
I lost my custom HTR 20th wedding anniversary ring about a year ago. After looking "everywhere" my wife and I accepted it as dearly departed. In July this year, while working on an ah-ah wall, suddenly I found my ring lodged among the rocks. It was seriously weather worn like a castaway stranded on an uncharted island. Sheepishly, we took it to HTR, and you guys brought it back to life in full luster. My wife and I are thrilled to be reunited again through our HTR rings. Mahalo!!!
